Crunch & Connections: Highlights from Fi Europe 2024
published on
3.12.2024The Fi Europe is known as the premier meeting
point for the food industry. As the world’s leading trade fair for food
additives, it spotlights innovations and trends shaping the food sector. For
years, it’s been a fixed date in our calendar at Erbacher Food Intelligence.
This year, we were back in Frankfurt/Main to showcase our tailored
ingredients and cutting-edge
solutions at Fi Europe 2024.
What made this year special? And why does the
fair continue to stand out? Marlen Luxenhofer, Jasmin Lebold, and Felix
Weykenat, who represented Erbacher Food Intelligence at the event, share their
insights.
What makes Fi Europe so special for Erbacher Food Intelligence?
Jasmin Lebold:
“Fi Europe is the world’s leading trade fair for food additives, making it an
essential event for us. Since 2014 – pandemic-related break in 2022 aside –
we’ve participated every year. It’s an excellent platform for showcasing our
expertise in contract
manufacturing of tailored ingredients and
establishing ourselves as a trusted partner for customised extrudates
and texturates.
At the same time, we discover new
trends and connect with potential customers.“
Felix Weykenat:
“Absolutely. For us, Fi Europe is one of the year’s most important events. It
attracts a broad audience of industry professionals, offering valuable
opportunities to engage directly with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
It’s always fascinating to see the global interest in our products.“
How did you present yourselves this year?
Marlen Luxenhofer:
“Our stand was designed to be open and modern, with clean lines and fresh
colors reflecting our corporate identity. Key phrases like “Extruded Cereals,”
“Textured Vegetable Proteins (TVP),” and “Contract Manufacturing” prominently
displayed on the walls succinctly captured our portfolio. A real highlight was
our product showcases, featuring samples across various categories – from snacks
and breakfast
cereals to meat
alternatives. Visitors were thrilled to try the
products on-site, which was a major draw.“

Marlen Luxenhofer:
“Our high-protein products and TVPs
were major talking points. Breadings
also garnered significant interest.“
Felix Weykenat: “Exactly,
and our crisps – perfect as ingredients in bars
or chocolate
– caught many eyes. Beyond these classic applications, there was palpable
interest in innovative meat alternatives.“
Jasmin Lebold:
“Many visitors were impressed by the versatility of our ingredients, including
recipe customisation, shape, color, and quality. Gluten-free options,
high-protein ingredients, and TVPs stood out as highlights. I had fascinating
discussions with attendees from Thailand, Israel, South America, and across
Europe, including Italy, Spain, and Turkey.“
How was the overall experience?
Marlen Luxenhofer:
“Our stand was busy throughout the event – a clear indicator that our products
resonate with the industry. It was rewarding to see such widespread interest in
our solutions.“
Jasmin Lebold: “I
was particularly struck by the diversity of innovations showcased – from
alternative protein sources to groundbreaking ingredients for sustainable food
production.“
