Passed with flying colors: In February, Erbacher Food Intelligence underwent an intensive IFS audit and achieved the coveted "Higher Level" status. This success not only underscores our pursuit of excellence but also the high-quality standards we set in the production of our customised products. But what is an IFS audit, and what does the standard entail?

The International Featured Standards (IFS) Food certificate is an internationally recognised standard ensuring the safety and quality of food and products in the supply chain. The IFS audit, successfully completed by EFI, comprehensively examines various processes and systems, from incoming goods to storage and the actual production process. Specific control points such as CP and CCP, magnets, screens, and metal detectors are thoroughly scrutinised. All areas, from quality management to the laboratory, undergo intensive scrutiny. This not only guarantees the quality of products but also ensures safety throughout the production chain. The audit lasts for a full two days and spans all involved departments. There are scheduled IFS audits as well as unannounced ones. The latter occur every three years and are designed to ensure that a production facility meets quality criteria even when not prepared for a review.
