Two days. Thousands of visitors. Countless conversations.
Once again, PLMA 2025 in Amsterdam proved to be the international hub for the private label industry – and Erbacher Food Intelligence was right at the heart of it. We seized the opportunity to present our latest innovations in functional ingredients. Packaging? That’s not our focus. Our strength lies in developing tailor-made product solutions for private label brands – ranging from crunchy protein crisps to spicy gluten-free snacks. When it comes to product content, we’re the partner you’re looking for.

A Global Stage, Strong Interest

Erbacher Food Intelligence has been a regular exhibitor at PLMA for more than a decade. The 2025 edition once again delivered in terms of diversity and relevance. “There’s a vibrant international crowd here - that’s what makes engaging with visitors so exciting,” said Felix Weykenat from the trade fair team. Christoph Becker added: “From start-ups to multinationals, exhibitors and visitors come from across the industry. You meet key decision-makers from purchasing, R&D, and sales.” The show continues to offer a prime opportunity to connect with existing partners – and to establish new business relationships.

Tailor-Made Solutions for Private Label

Although Erbacher Food Intelligence no longer offers finished packaging solutions, PLMA remains a key event for us. Why? Because the demand for functional and innovative ingredients for snacks, cereals, and textured vegetable protein (TVP) is growing rapidly – especially in the private label segment.
“PLMA visitors come from all kinds of backgrounds and have very different requirements,” explained Weykenat. “We cover many of today’s most relevant trends – from high-protein to gluten-free, plant-based, and organic.” Erbacher Food Intelligence provides the foundation for truly customized products – precisely aligned with each brand’s positioning and target group.

In Demand: Breakfast Cereals, TVP & Baby Snacks

According to Christoph Becker, the most requested products at this year’s show were: “Breakfast cereals, baby snacks, and TVP.” The versatility of our solutions sparked a great deal of interest – especially because visitors could experience them live.
“Tasting sessions often led to surprised reactions – people couldn’t believe how crunchy our gluten-free crisps are,” said Weykenat. This confirms what we know: sensory experience and texture are key success factors – and that’s exactly where Erbacher Food Intelligence delivers.

Why Product Samples Matter

Whether cereal bars, breakfast blends, or breadings – our product samples sparked meaningful discussions. “Concrete examples help people understand the product much better – especially compared to raw materials alone,” said Weykenat. Becker added: “The application examples and infographics at our booth were particularly effective – they immediately showed how our ingredients can be used.”

Snacks and Strategy

Visitors to the Erbacher Food Intelligence booth didn’t just leave with snacks – they left with strategies. Our personal on-site consultations proved crucial for many attendees in understanding how our products could meet their specific needs.
“Tailored product concepts are key to long-term sales success – especially when they’re designed to meet the needs of a specific target group,” emphasized Weykenat.

Looking Ahead: TVP, Protein, and Personalization

Christoph Becker sees strong growth potential in meat alternatives – a trend that also played a central role at this year’s PLMA. It’s a future-focused market where we are already well positioned: Erbacher Food Intelligence offers proven solutions based on textured vegetable protein (TVP) for a wide range of meat- and fish-free applications.

Our Takeaway: It’s All About What’s Inside

PLMA 2025 made one thing clear: for private label brands, differentiation happens through product content - not packaging. With customized contract manufacturing, extruded cereals, innovative TVP, and functional ingredients for bars and chocolate, Erbacher Food Intelligence delivers exactly what modern brands need: diversity, expertise, and flexibility.
